kiwi cultrue

Kiwis are a native bird to new zealand and they can only be found in new zealand. They are endangered birds in our country and there are only 68,000 kiwis left but we're leaving 2% of our unmanaged kiwis every year. Kiwis are preyed on by animals such as dogs, stouts, possums etc. They are a protected species in New Zealand that represent us as a nation. They are our national animal. There are five types of kiwis northern brown, southern brown kiwi, great spotted kiwi, okarito kiwi and little spotted kiwi. They are flightless birds and they have two small legs, a long beak and are covered in thin hair like feathers. They are omnivores which means they are animals that eat both plants and other animals. The foods they eat are things like small invertebrates, seeds, grubs, different types of worms and fruits.
